All-State Ensemble Honorees Named; Purchase Festival Tickets Now
Twenty-one Ankeny students have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as a member of the 2014 All-State Music Festival.  Read more about the honorees and their upcoming concert in Ames.
ACHS Activity Yard Signs on Sale

The Ankeny Centennial Cheerleaders are selling yard signs and window decals again this year to help promote and recognize students.

  • Activity Yard Sign - $28 per sign. Signs come in different shapes to highlight the specific activity of the student. Personalize it with your name.
  • Window Decals - $10 per decal. Here is your opportunity to proudly display your Ankeny Centennial spirit – great for car windows. A variety of decals are available to help you support your specific activity!

The next order deadline is November 15.  Please complete the order form and return to Ankeny Centennial Activities Office.


SENIORS: Do you know how you'll pay for college? Get info at the ICAN presentation -
If you’re a senior planning for college (or the parent of one), you probably have questions about the financial aid process. AHS and ACHS seniors can find answers during a free presentation by the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) hosted at Ankeny Centennial High School Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m.  Learn more about the program here.
ACHS celebrates high academic achievers:
On October 15, 2014 Academic Letter Awards were presented to Ankeny Centennial High School students who had an unweighted cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.67 or higher at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.  View the ACHS Letter Award recipients here.
ACHS Marching Band to perform in 2015 NYC National Veterans Day Parade -
The Ankeny Centennial High School Marching Band is proud to announce they have accepted an invitation to march in the National Veterans Day Parade in New York City on November 11, 2015. The parade features more than 20,000 participants, including veterans of all eras, active duty military, ROTC and JrROTC units, and civic and youth groups, all accompanied to music performed by a selection of our nation's best high school marching bands, drill teams and step dancers. Hundreds of new and gently used coats are waiting for students in need and will be distributed by F.E.W.D. (Faith and Education Winter Donations) program, supported by Project Fresh Start through the Ankeny Community Education Department: No need analysis form is required to receive needed winter wear.  Recipients will only be asked for student age and proof of Ankeny residence (such as driver’s license or a bill with an Ankeny address).  View more information on the donation drive.
Daylight Savings Time Ends This Weekend
Don't forget: Daylight savings time ends and we return to standard time this weekend at 2:00 AM Sunday, November 2.  Remember to set your clocks back ("fall back") one hour Saturday night.
November 6 flu clinic location changed to Southview Middle School -
The Polk County Health Department flu clinic originally scheduled to be held at Ankeny High School on November 6 has been changed to Southview Middle School at 1020 SW Cherry Street.  Please note this change of location.  Ankeny Community School District is again partnering with the Polk County Health Department to provide seasonal flu vaccination clinics, and vaccinations will be available to all staff and students, and to the public.  Learn more about the flu clinics here.
Pay-to-Ride busing 2nd semester registration is now open:
Ankeny Schools are pleased to again offer an optional pay-to-ride student transportation program for elementary and middle school students who live within two miles of their assigned school and high school students who live within three miles of their assigned school.  Sign-up for second semester is now underway, and closes on December 15.  Learn more about the program here.
