PSAT-Register for the Test for Sophomores and Juniors
ACHS is pleased to offer the PSAT/NMSQT to juniors and sophomores on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a multiple choice test that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities important for college success. If you did not receive the letter and registration form in the mail click here. If your student wishes to take the exam, please have him/her return the form and a check for $20 to Ms. Coffman in the Counseling Dept. Please do not mail registrations – students must pick up information and a study guide!  See more information from the counselors here. View calendar for testing day.

Parents: Please take the School-Year Calendar Planning Survey -
Each year, Ankeny Schools’ staff, administration and Board representatives meet to discuss and plan the school calendar. Part of that planning includes surveying parents regarding their preferences and using that feedback to guide our decisions through the process.

We are beginning our planning process for the 2015-2016 school calendar, and would like to invite parents to take our brief nine-question, multiple-choice survey found at the following link:


Ankeny Students Commended in 2015 National Merit« Scholarship Program:
Officials of the National Merit® Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) have announced the names of Commended Students in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, which includes three scholastically talented Ankeny seniors.  Read the names of the honorees and more on the program.

Des Moines University offers a unique opportunity for local high school students to explore a variety of careers in the health care field. October fliers now available in the vBackpack:
New fliers for the month are now available in the online vBackpack. The vBackpack includes fliers from community organizations for events or activities for students. Check out the October fliers here. 
Polk County Health flu clinics scheduled at Ankeny schools:
The Ankeny Community School District is again partnering with the Polk County Health Department to provide seasonal flu vaccination clinics in Ankeny Schools October 9 and November 6. The influenza vaccination will be available to all staff and students, and will be open to the public.  Learn more about the flu clinics here.
First Semester 6-Week Reports Online for Grades 6-12
Ankeny secondary schools' first semester six-week midterm grade reports are now available in Infinite Campus.  Midterm report cards are not sent via mail.  No paper reports are sent until the end of the semester.  Parents and guardians may view midterm grades via Infinite Campus.  If you do not have an account set up in Infinite Campus, please e-mail portal@ankenyschools.org to start the process.
